Generator fuel test
Q: I have a question about the annual fuel testing of emergency generators. It doesn't specify anything about natural gas generators. Is there a particular test for these, or is a letter from your gas company provider sufficient documentation?
A: There is no NFPA requirement to test the fuel for natural gas–powered generators. The ASTM test that the NFPA 110-2013 refers to is the D975 test, which is specific for diesel fuels.
Cove base in oxygen room
Q: Is it against code to use cove base in a designated oxygen storage room? I work at a nursing home and have annual surveys by CMS. If this is against code, why, and what code does it fall under? We are a newer facility, built within the last two years.
