Anytime you see cardboard boxes stored directly on a floor, you need to ask what’s in them, and if there is any infection control concern related to their contents, then the boxes need to be moved or at least lifted off the floor. Your healthcare facility could be cited by The Joint Commission, CMS, or another authority.
