In today’s rapidly changing environment, no organization is immune from violence. It’s an unfortunate truth, but one that facilities should keep in mind as they revise their emergency preparedness plans to be compliant with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) new standard before surveys begin in November. Those plans likely include policies and procedures for natural disasters, cyberattacks, and disease outbreaks—but what about an active shooter event?
Join expert speaker, Steve Wilder, BA, CHSP, STS, for this 90-minute webinar beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, July 20, 2017, as he helps participants identify the four core elements of the revised CMS Emergency Preparedness standard. He will then explain the five key components of an active shooter plan and the “four outs” to consider when faced with an active shooter event. Attendees will be included in a discussion around fleeing for one’s own safety vs. staying and protecting residents and visitors.
