It’s the beginning of the New Year, and if you’re like most people, you’re wondering how to make your life a little better.
If you’re like most healthcare safety folks, you’re also planning your safety program for 2017, getting your paperwork in order, planning your in-service training sessions, and figuring out how you can get ahead of the OSHA safety inspectors in case they come to inspect your facility.
Or are you? Perhaps not surprisingly, many facilities either don’t have a dedicated safety professional, or they are too busy doing other things (such as treating patients), to pay too much attention to these things. That’s a shame, because it’s the simple things that could cause your clinic to be hit with a pricey fine or lawsuit, stemming from a patient or worker injury.
