Hospital-acquired infections undercounted in California

California officials have uncovered problems in reporting infection control data that highlights problems with the difficulty of such public reporting. Recent news reports detail how the state is trying to improve the accuracy of data reporting after its own fact checking at one quarter of the states' hospitals identified numerous errors, including a potential 38% undercount of central line infections.
