Ask the expert archive: Emergency action plans for small practices

OSHA Healthcare Connection, August 21, 2012

Q: Does a small clinic need a written emergency action plan?

A: Facilities with more than 10 employees must have a written plan in the workplace that is available for employee review, according to section 1910.38(b) of the OSHA employee emergency action plans standard.

Businesses "with 10 or fewer employees may communicate the plan orally to employees."
