Q: How long does OSHA require us to keep a cleaning log for a biosafety cabinet in our oncology department?

A: OSHA does not require a log for environmental housekeeping, only that the schedule be posted.

For logs involving infection prevention functions, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) says to set retention based on the needs of your facility, but recommends three years as a common practice.
