Study: Clinical and nonclinical workers susceptible to H1N1

Nonclinical healthcare workers were just as likely to come down with the flu as were clinical workers during the H1N1 pandemic, according to a study published in the August Clinical Infectious Diseases.

A commentary appearing in the same issue encourages similar studies because often the primary focus of infections is on patients, and healthcare workers are treated as “fixtures rather than dynamic members of a disease transmission network.”
