Ruling on guns in workplace parking lots upheld

OSHA Healthcare Connection, June 2, 2009

Oklahoma employers may not prohibit workers from having firearms in locked cars on company parking lots, even if it is part of a workplace violence prevention policy.

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling on this matter will stand after the filing deadline passed for further legal appeals, according to a May 20 news release from Oklahoma Attorney General's Office.
