Residency coordinators’ work hours

With their growing roster of responsibilities, you would expect the modern program coordinator to be logging more hours per week. However, the results of HCPro's latest Residency Coordinator Salary Survey show a downward trend.

While 39% of respondents to our 2020 survey reported working 41–45 hours per week, this figure is down 5% from the 2019 survey. Also, 9% of respondents reported working more than 50 hours per week, which is down 3% from 2019. Meanwhile, 34% reported working 36–40 hours per week, a 9% increase from the prior year (see Figure 2).

Although survey respondents reported logging fewer hours during the work week, most indicated that they performed tasks outside of their normal working hours (see Figure 3).
