2020 was a year unlike any other in recent memory. The pandemic disrupted how many of us work and go about our daily business. All the more reason to check in on the working conditions of residency coordinators nationwide.

In 2020, more than 300 GME professionals submitted survey responses to HCPro's Residency Coordinator Salary Survey. The goal for collecting and disseminating this information is to empower the coordinator community at all stages in their careers, compensation spectrum, and care continuum.

Most respondents (88%) earned more than $40,000 annually (see Figure 1), very close to the 89% from our 2019 survey but still up from the 84% of respondents reporting that range in our 2017 survey. The largest percentages of survey takers this year make $50,001–$55,000 (17%) and $45,001–$50,000 (15%). The percentage of respondents who reported making more than $75,000 annually stayed the same as in 2019, at 9%. This figure is still nearly twice the amount who reported earning that much in 2017.
