The transition from medical school to residency can be challenging for many physicians-in-training. Faton Bytyci, MD, chief resident of the family medicine program at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, recently shared tips to help residents navigate their PGY-1. Her advice included:
•    Plan out your calendar and organize residency-related activities
•    Set realistic expectations that the year will be challenging
•    Work with your family or others in your support network to help with personal responsibilities
•    Show enthusiasm, take responsibility, and don’t lose confidence
