Coordinators are interested in pursuing certification but may not also receive support from their organizations, according to HCPro’s most recent annual survey of residency program coordinator. The survey found that 48% of respondents are interested in pursuing Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification, and 16% are already certified. However, in an open-ended question about challenges, several respondents mentioned a lack of financial support for training/going to TAGME meetings.
Fortunately, the percentage of respondents who said their organization pays or reimburses for certification is actually up to 59%, an increase of seven points from the previous year’s survey. Also, 86% of respondents reported that their department supported sending them to annual conferences.
