Finding that most apps aimed toward clinicians focused on clinical care, a group of students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai developed CareTeam, an app for residents that provides logistical information, such as phone numbers and protocols for making referrals and ordering tests.
The app provides specific information tailored to particular unit or clinic. For example, the developers created eight versions for Mount Sinai Health System to account for the different inpatient, outpatient, and medical education settings. Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Montefiore Medical Center are in talks with the developers for their own versions of the app.
