Medical school deans concerned over shortage of residencies

In a survey of 141 U.S. medical schools conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges, 87% of deans were worried about the number of available residency training positions for graduates. This is up from a survey conducted in 2010 in which 72% of deans expressed this concern. Seventy-one percent of the deans who responded also expressed concern that medical school enrollment will outpace GME growth.
