The Wisconsin Department of Health Services awarded the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin a $750,000 grant spread over three years to open a new family medicine residency program in 2017.
The Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota, will sponsor the new program, which will seek accreditation from the ACGME.
The program will have as many as five residents per year over the three-year residency. In addition to seeing patients in Eau Claire, the residents will train at several rural sites in northwest Wisconsin throughout the course of their residency.
