New superbugs are emerging that the CDC and other agencies say can’t be stopped. Here’s what you should do to keep them from overtaking your clinic.

There is a plethora of scary scenarios coming into your clinic every day. For the most part, your staff is well-prepared and equipped to handle just about anything.

However, some of the scariest things to emerge in recent years are much too small to see, and may be almost impossible to get rid of.

So-called “superbugs” continue to appear in the healthcare environment. While infection control experts are battling valiantly to keep these infections under control, there are some indications that that may not always be possible.

It’s not that we don’t have the technology; it’s that pathogens have found ways around our defenses, resulting in hardy illnesses with increasing resistance to traditional antibiotics and antifungal medications.
