PQRS deadlines extended
Physician Practice Insider, February 7, 2017
The deadlines for reporting certain 2016 electronic health record (EHR) data for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) were extended into March, CMS announced in a February 3 email alert.
The original deadline was February 28 but physicians will now have until March 13 to submit 2016 EHR data through the Quality Reporting Document Architecture. The new deadline applies to individual eligible professionals (EP), PQRS group practices, qualified clinical data registries, and qualified EHR data submission vendors. Submissions will be accepted until 8 p.m. EST March 13.
EPs who do not meet reporting requirements for 2016 quality measure data will see a negative PQRS payment adjustment in 2018.
