A survey of nurse practitioners found that those who completed a postgraduate fellowship reported higher job satisfaction than those who had not.
Researchers asked nurse practitioners who had and had not completed a postgraduate fellowship to rate their job satisfaction. Of those who had completed training, 68.8% reported being satisfied or very satisfied. Of those without postgraduate fellowship training, 50.5% reported being satisfied or very satisfied.
NPs who had completed postgraduate education also had higher mean scores than those who hadn’t on several job satisfaction factors, including autonomy, benefits, collegiality, growth, and time management.
