Average annual salary for licensed practical, licensed vocational nurses rises

According to recently released data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual salary for licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses is $47,050. This data, which was collected in May 2018, shows an increase in salary from data collected in May 2017, which showed an average annual salary of $45,710.
In 2018, Rhode Island was the top paying state for licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses with an average salary of $59,130, followed by Massachusetts ($58,990), Alaska ($58,250), Nevada ($57,140), and Connecticut ($56,970). These were also the top paying states in 2017.
Texas employed the greatest number of licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses with about 72,000, followed by California with 64,000.
