IHI to Host Webcast for Patient Safety Week

To commemorate Patient Safety Awareness Week (March 10-16), the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is hosting a webinar that will examine patient safety in ambulatory care settings.
The free webinar, Advancing Patient Safety Beyond the Hospital, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. Eastern. Moderated by Tejal Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, the IHI’s chief clinical and safety officer, the webinar will feature speakers Rear Admiral Jeffrey Brady, MD, MPH, of the U.S. Public Health Service and Lisa Schilling, RN, MPH, CPHQ, vice president of quality, safety, and clinical effectiveness at Stanford Health Care.
The program will cover the state of ambulatory patient care in the U.S., the infrastructure needed to advance patient safety in ambulatory settings, and the importance of patient safety culture, teamwork among clinicians, and patient and family engagement.
