In the news: Oregon nurses pursue additional degrees to demonstrate excellence

Because of the need to demonstrate factors such as quality nursing leadership, professional models of care, and professional development, hospitals looking into ANCC Magnet Recognition Program ® (MRP) status encourage their nurses to pursue advanced education, such as their BSN degree, Oregon Live reports.
This pursuit of education is in evidence at Salem Hospital in Salem, OR, which received designation as an MRP organization in 2010. Many of the nurses at Salem Hospital are pursuing Registered nurses at Salem Hospital their BSN through Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing’s online RN to BSN program.
