Inside scoop from our experts: Patient education
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 25, 2010
This week’s question about pain medications comes from a discussion on JourneyTalk.
Q: What is your primary tool for patient education (i.e. pre-printed literature)? Do you use an on-demand video or DVD system where the patient dials in from their room and views the film on their TV? If so, what system do you use and are you satisfied with it?
A: We use printed materials in most areas. Some specialty areas have videos/systems that patients can access. We use Mosby's for our printed materials.
Editor's note: On JourneyTalk you can network with your peers, discuss the new manual, share your helpful tips, and get advice on how to meet the program's expectations.
