Inside best practice: Program ambassadors
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, September 3, 2010
The primary role of ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) ambassadors at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu is outreach and education. They work together to develop means to reach out to every unit and tailor that outreach to maximize its benefit to the employee populace.
On the most basic level, they provide lunch sessions, during which team members make PowerPoint presentations defining key MRP concepts, what the concepts mean to the hospital, what documentation needs to be gathered from individual units, and what evidence they will need to document the work they are doing. Often, the presentations will focus on how to show evidence of the good work the units are doing.
They also identify where good processes are already in place.
