In the news: Designated hospital announces key cardiac research results

Researchers at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program (MRP) ® designated facility, recently announced they have made a major step forward in understanding how cardiac-specific genes are “turned on” during development in mice embryos.
It is believed that this research could benefit patients by helping physicians understand more clearly which human stem cells can be put into damaged human hearts to spark heart muscle regeneration.
