Inside the news: Illinois hospital gears up for site visit
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 6, 2009
Blessing Hospital, located in Quincy, IL, recently learned that ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) surveyors will visit the hospital in December to conduct a three-day site visit.
The hospital is excited to have made it this far in its MRP journey, as according to the ANCC, only one in five hospitals applying for designation is successful in making it to the site visit phase.
"While earning [MRP] recognition is our goal, being granted a site visit is a major accomplishment," Jill Mason, chief nursing officer, told the Quincy Herald-Whig. "It is a testament to the care delivered by our nurses today and to the solid foundation of quality care built by the nurses who came before us over the 134-year history of this hospital."
