Inside the program: Maintain perspective throughout the journey
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, June 16, 2009
No one person or group of people can ensure that your organization earns ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) status, nor is designation solely dependent on the written documentation. There is no single right or wrong approach to complete this phase of the journey. What's important is that the documentation reflects your unique culture of nursing excellence throughout all nursing levels and across all nursing practice areas.
"While 'one voice' is important to reflect common philosophy and goals, 'all voices' are equally as important to remind us of why we went into nursing and how we strive toward and achieve excellence every day," says Meryl Montgomery, MSN, RN, MRP director at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
