Inside the program: Start asking questions to prepare for the written documentation

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 19, 2009

There are multiple ways to collect evidence for the 5 Model Components and to write narratives for the sources of evidence (SOEs). You can start by asking yourself the following five questions:

  1. Where will the evidence come from? (That is, will specific committees, groups, and individuals submit their stories? Will the writers interview staff and leadership, or will writers be responsible for brainstorming SOEs?)
  2. Who will oversee the evidence collection?
  3. How will we decide which evidence to use, and where to include it in the documentation?
  4. Who will write/edit the narratives?
  5. Who will edit/proof the final draft?
