Inside the program: Keep writers to a deadline and a timeline
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, April 7, 2009
When it comes to deadlines for the written documentation, many organizations have one or more writers who may neglect them or even enjoy the push to the end. This can be nerve-wracking for the rest of those involved, so stress the importance of meeting targeted deadlines.
Also, writing the documentation will identify problems or inconsistencies within your nursing department that the gap analysis may not have identified. A timeline will help your organization prioritize those concerns that you have time to address and those that will have to wait until a later date to help you stay on track.
