Tips from TSE: Kick off Web conferencing at your facility

Staff Development Weekly: Insight on Evidence-Based Practice in Education, October 24, 2008

Increase the flexibility of your staff development programs by offering Web conferencing, which can be used when you'd like staff members to view a broadcast via the Web. Because it originates at a single source and can be accessed by a single recipient or by multiple recipients using Web browsers, it allows increased time and location flexibility for you and your staff to access material.

The following tips will help when creating your Web conference presentation:

  • Create documents with a landscape orientation (more wide than tall)
  • Try to make all your visuals the same size so the document camera can be prefocused before the presentation
  • Use no more than two fonts in your presentation visuals
