In an open door forum held August 6, 2015, CMS emphasized the impending introduction of the payroll-based staffing journal (PBJ)—an electronic system through which SNFs will be required to submit staffing data pulled directly from their payrolls starting in July 2016. Beginning this October, CMS is offering providers the opportunity to submit data through the PBJ before the practice becomes mandatory.
The HCPro long-term care team wants to know: Is your facility gearing to participate in this voluntary initiative? How ready are you for mandatory reporting through the new system? Does the industry even need this new collection mechanism?
Click here to take our brief survey. Results will be shared in the upcoming issue of PPS Alert for Long-Term Care.
For any other feedback related to the PBJ, email associate editor Delaney Rebernik at drebernik@hcpro.com.
