HCPRO, Inc., and CACTUS Launch Privileging Software Partnership

Press Releases, September 6, 2005

Marblehead, MA/Overland Park, KS, September 6, 2005--HCPro, a leading provider of healthcare regulatory and management information, and CACTUS Software, a leading credentialing and provider management software firm, today announced a partnership to develop and deliver a new privileging software tool to healthcare organizations. Core Privilege Plus T will deliver a cutting edge privileging database containing core privileging design criteria developed by HCPro's experienced research and consulting team. HCPro is the publisher of many credentialing and privileging products including the Credentialing Resource Center and the Credentialing and Privileging Desk Reference.  HCPro also sponsors the Credentialing Resource Center Symposium.

The result will be a ground-breaking privileging database tool which will become available to clients in the fall of 2005. HCPro and CACTUS plan to unveil the product at the National Association for Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Annual Conference this September in Phoenix, AZ. The database will offer healthcare organizations software that accesses HCPro's longstanding privileging research and consulting expertise. Clients will use the software to manage provider privileges, link providers to privileges, subscribe to new privilege information, and manage, change and track privileges as well as view them in multiple stations within the facility or system. The software will contain recommended privileging criteria and privileging background information provided, maintained, and updated by HCPro, and can be used as a stand alone privileging database or to complement existing credentialing software.

"HCPro is by far the nation's leader in providing credentialing and privileging content, and has a reputation second to none for its expertise in this area," said Bruce Guzowski, President and CEO of HCPro.  "We are happy to be developing this new product as both an extension for CACTUS users and as a stand-alone product that can reside on any client's own system or be hosted as an ASP solution. It will be the most cost-effective solution available on the market," Guzowski added.

"We are excited to collaborate with HCPro in the creation of a software and content solution for the healthcare marketplace," said Wayne Auer, CEO of CACTUS Software. "The results of our efforts will deliver a quality software and content solution that will benefit all healthcare provider organizations. This web-based product will assist users in transitioning to core privileges and quickly react to special privilege requests."
