HealthLeaders Media Publishes Three New Intelligence Reports on Clinical Quality

Press Releases, July 11, 2012

HealthLeaders Media, an integrated media company serving the business information needs of healthcare executives, today published three new Intelligence Reports that provide insights into where healthcare institutions stand in their adoption of clinical quality measures.

Titled Clinical Quality: Data is the Key to Survival, the reports address this increasingly critical topic as the healthcare industry prepares for a system that will reward value through high quality and efficiency of care.

The reports feature original data and analysis based on a recent survey of the 5,000-member HealthLeaders Media Council, a forum of healthcare executives spanning all healthcare settings and regions. Among other things, the reports reveal that:

  • 80% of senior leaders say their institutions achieve strong clinical quality outcomes.
  • 76% are using electronic health records (EHRs) to track patient care.
  • Only 44% of EHR users say the systems benefit patient safety.
  • Only 40% say value-based purchasing will improve patient safety.

The reports indicate that many institutions have yet to take full advantage of EHR metrics to help with tracking resource utilization, integrating caregiver decision support, offering incentives to reward quality performance, and more.

Clinical Quality: Data is the Key to Survival is available in three versions:

  • A free summary report including survey findings and expert analysis
  • Intelligence Report Premium, a new version that provides additional features and insights, including: in-depth, segmented data; case studies from Catholic Health Initiatives, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and Dean Health System; and further recommendations from HealthLeaders Media Research Analyst Michael Zeis
  • Intelligence Report Premium Buying Power, a new version featuring information targeted specifically at healthcare industry suppliers.

All three versions are available with introductory pricing at Intelligence Report Premium can be purchased at an initial per-issue price of $399 or a $2,500 annual subscription (12 issues). Intelligence Report Buying Power is sold exclusively at an annual subscription rate of $4,000 for 12 issues.
