ACDIS announces recognition week for Clinical Documentation Improvement

ACDIS, the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, the nation’s only association dedicated to the CDI profession, is launching the first annual Clinical Documentation Improvement Week. The week will take place September 18-24, 2011.

The recognition week is being announced today at the Fourth Annual ACDIS Conference in Orlando.

"It's time to formally recognize the unique skills and expertise of CDI specialists," says Brian Murphy, ACDIS Director. "The goal of Clinical Documentation Improvement Week is to increase awareness of the CDI profession and honor CDI specialists for the hard work they perform every day.”

A committee organized and supported by ACDIS planned and organized the event and have developed resources and promotional materials.

The association's web site ( will provide an electronic toolkit, including PowerPoint® training tools for CDI specialists, a downloadable logo and poster, and ideas about how CDI professionals can celebrate the week in their facilities. The toolkit will be made available on a dedicated web page prior to the week.
