Q: When determining whether an episode is early or later for M0110, is day one for counting 60 days the start of care day or the day prior to admission?

Homecare Insider Q&A, March 5, 2009

A: When determining the answer for M0110, episode timing, the concern is what happened before admission.  So, count backwards 60 days with the day before admission as day one (the start of care date is day zero).  If there are less than 60 days between the end of the previous episode and the start of care date, the episodes are adjacent.  If the new episode is the third or beyond in the sequence, it is a later episode.
