Last month, we laid the foundation to promote successful engagement of the coding and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) teams in PSI 90 performance improvement efforts.
We discussed reports provided by CMS to identify improvement priorities. We reviewed the PSI 90 composite, and the measure structure for each of the PSIs in the composite in terms of inclusions, exclusions, and risk adjustment. In this month's article, we'll review these concepts for PSI 15.
In addition, we'll provide some examples of common coding and documentation vulnerabilities pertinent to this measure, as well as examples of how to leverage the electronic health record (EHR) to capture required documentation.
