ACDIS is blessed, and has been blessed, over the years since its inception to benefit from the knowledge, experience, and energy of its membership. We believe it to be inherent to the personality of CDI professionals on the whole—a truly committed, generous, fun-loving, honest, hardworking group if ever existed. Yet once a year, as the ACDIS National Conference planning begins to heat up (and who couldn’t use a little warmth with this polar freeze working its way across the country), we look to identify a handful of individuals who exemplify the ideal CDI professional.
The nomination period for the prestigious CDI Professional of the Year and Recognition of CDI Professional Achievement awards is open through the end of January. In the past, we have recognized authors, innovators, managers, and mentors, trend-setting CDI staff members, and those with big hearts willing to share their knowledge with fellow CDI specialists. Some, like Donald Butler, Wendy Clesi, and others, went on to serve on the ACDIS Advisory Board. Others, like Tamara Hicks and Nancy R. Ignatowicz, have been authors of CDI books and speakers at the conference. Still, others, such as the amazing Kara Masucci and Judy Schade, did amazing work at their individual facilities, and returned home from earning their accolades to continue supporting their respective CDI teams. Some continue to provide networking support to any number of CDI specialists through local chapter leadership or CDI Talk participation.
You needn’t have moved mountains to nominate yourself for these awards; you simply need to share how you’ve helped support and promote the CDI mission within your facility and community. We know you all do amazing work day-in and day-out to ensure patients have the most clear and accurate medical record possible. Tell us about your efforts. You might be the next CDI Professional of the Year.
To nominate a colleague or peer, please click on the link and complete the form. All nominations will be reviewed by the ACDIS Conference Committee in conjunction with ACDIS administration, and winners will be notified in March.
