In the 2015 OPPS proposed rule narrative text, CMS tells us it is proposing to conditionally package ancillary services that have a geometric mean cost of less than or equal to $100 (with exceptions including preventive service, counseling/psychiatry, and drug administration services).
To many, including me, the first thought that comes to mind when we see CMS' use of the phrase "ancillary services" is services currently assigned a status indicator X.
