CMS recently released its Stage 2 Meaningful Use Attestation Calculator to aid eligible hospitals, critical access hospitals (CAH), and eligible professionals in determining compliance with the requirements of Stage 2 of the EHR Incentive Programs. The calculator is similar to the one CMS released to help gauge the process of an organization’s attestation with Stage 1 Meaningful Use.
To determine readiness, users begin by selecting their provider type. The calculator offers a selection for eligible providers and one for eligible hospitals and CAHs. After making a selection, the user is promoted to answer questions about its organization’s Stage 2 Meaningful Use core objectives and menu objectives. Afterward, a results page displays an explanation of why the organization in question is in a position to pass or fail each measure.
Although the attestation calculator does not guarantee an organization will meet the requirements of the EHR Incentive Program, it can aid organization in determining whether it is on the right track to meeting Stage 2 requirements.
Organizations that already demonstrated at least two years of Stage 1 Meaningful Use must demonstrate Stage 2 Meaningful Use in 2014. Click here for additional information about Stage 2.
CMS also recently released three new and five updated FAQs for its EHR Incentive Programs.
