Q&A: Did CMS add new procedures in the April OPPS update?

A: These two new HCPCS codes for procedures became payable under the OPPS April 1:
- C9739, cystourethroscopy, with insertion of transprostatic implant, 1 to 3 implants
- C9740, cystourethroscopy, with insertion of transprostatic implant; 4 or more implants
Both codes are assigned to status indicator T (significant procedure, multiple reduction applies) and are subject to the discounting methodology for T procedures. For more information, see Transmittal 2903.
