Local Chapter Events: Seven groups set to meet in October, more sessions slated for November

Texas: The Dallas/Ft. Worth chapter meets Thursday, October 10, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., via webinar. Cindy Pritchett, RN, CCDS, CDI consultant for MedPartners HIM presents “Importance of Capturing Shock in your Daily Practice.” For information, contact joanne.dukes@hcahealthcare.com.

Oregon: The ACDIS NW Chapter holds its annual conference Friday, October 11, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the St. Charles Health System, in Bend. The agenda includes:

Maryland: Meets Friday, October 18, 1:30–3 p.m. at the Maryland Hospital Association Headquarters in Elkridge. Agenda includes:

  • ACDIS presentation: “Fostering Physician Involvement and Education Under ICD-10”
  • CDI certification: Weighing options, determining the right time
  • 2-midnight benchmark for inpatient hospital admissions
  • New physician orientation – how do you access new physicians?
  • CMI vs. MHACs: Change of CDI focus
  • Physician pushback: Escalation policies and EHR concerns
  • Discussion: Physician education and ICD-10

North Carolina: Early registration for the NC ACDIS Chapter upcoming meeting is Friday, October 18. The event takes place Friday, November 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst. Admission is $40 for chapter members, $45 for non-members, $50 at the door. New Jersey: The NJ ACDIS Chapter meets Friday, November 8, 1:30-4:30 p.m., at Reimbursement Review Associates, Inc., in New Brunswick.
