Q: Has CMS established any new pass-through device categories for October?

A: Yes, Transmittal 2775 was published August 23, 2013, and includes the October updates for the OPPS. In that transmittal, CMS established one new pass-through device category, represented by HCPCS code C1841, Retinal prosthesis, which includes all internal and external components. This code is assigned a status indicator of H and to APC 1841.
