If you attended the 2013 ACDIS National Conference in Nashville, Tenn., then you know how wonderful it feels to be surrounded by a thousand of your peers—people who understand, and love, the same aspects of the profession as you.
ACDIS members can relive those memories by downloading this year’s conference special supplement under the July edition of the website. In it we recap some of the learning highlights, fete our annual award winners, thank our exhibitors and sponsors, and illustrate just how much fun an ACDIS conference can be.
Those who attended may have heard of the impromptu “wedding” officiated by our own Membership Services Specialist Penny Richards. Richards moonlights as justice of the peace and has officiated many local weddings. As a nod to one of this year’s poster presentations, Richards developed a mock-ceremony touting the importance of physician and CDI specialist engagement in documentation improvement efforts. A copy of the script is included in the special supplement and a video is available on the ACDIS YouTube channel. We encourage you to “engage” your physicians in a similar event at your own facility during the upcoming CDI Week celebrations, September 16-20.
A slide show presentation of photos from the 2013 conference is also available on the ACDIS YouTube channel.
ACDIS received more than 130 applications to present at the 2014 conference in Las Vegas and the conference committee has already begun meeting to review submissions and select speakers. Chosen speakers will be notified in October.
Those wishing to exhibit at the 2014 program can download the exhibitor prospectus or email Mike Arnold at marnold@hcpro.com.
