The April 2013 edition of the CDI Journal was released last week. It not only includes the latest ACDIS/AHIMA query brief “Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice,” but also offers insight from various brief contributors who highlight specific changes CDI professionals need to be aware of.

Furthermore, the latest edition offers three different articles written by physicians related to documentation improvement. Trey LaCharite, MD, discusses why physicians may be reticent to accurately depict mortality indicators for their terminal patients.  Wendy Whittington, MD, discusses reasons she found for physician disconnect when it comes to documentation-related matters. Dan Catalano, MD, offers a look at how clinical indicators for hypertension differ among the pediatric population.
We are so grateful to these busy physicians for their input and insight in this latest edition. Their continued involvement further illustrates how interconnected the CDI discipline is.
ACDIS members have access to the entire Journal, including its “Meet-a-member” and “Ask ACDIS” Q&A features, and additional information regarding achieving physician buy-in written by former ACDIS Advisory Board member Glenn Krauss.
