Providers and coders seem to speak two different languages-clinical and coding. Providers already have issues parsing ICD-9-CM "coder speak," so how can you get them to understand ICD-10?

It can seem like a daunting task, but having a plan will make training easier, says Rachel Commons Chebeleu, MBA, RHIA, director of the professional fee ­abstraction and HIM departments at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
