The correct answer is D. St. Louis hosted Games of the III Olympiad in 1904, making it the first U.S. city to host the modern Olympics. Lake Placid (1932 and 1980) and Los Angeles (1932 and 1984) both hosted the Olympics twice. Atlanta hosted the Olympics in 1996.
