The correct answer is D. In Act 3, Scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt challenges Romeo to fight. Romeo refuses, but Mercutio takes up the challenge and fights Tybalt. Tybalt fatally wounds Mercutio, then runs away. When Tybalt returns, Romeo kills him.
