The correct answer is D. William Henry Harrison won the nickname as the commanding general of American forces who defeated hostile Native Americans at the Battle of Tippecanoe in the Ohio River Valley in 1811. During the presidential election campaign of 1840, the Whigs used the slogan “Old Tippecanoe and Tyler, Too” to promote Harrison’s candidacy. John Tyler was his running mate.
