Nearly 300 people have already responded to the ICD-10 for Clinical Documentation Improvement Programs survey. Most indicated that HIM/coding departments are currently leading implementation efforts and heading up ICD-10 training.
While 52% of respondents indicated that they have a basic familiarity with ICD-10, including knowledge of CMS’ implementation timeline and the reason for the change, only 18% of respondents said they had received any formal training in ICD-10 to date.
If you have not had an opportunity to participate in the survey there is still time to do so. The survey will remain open until Friday, September 10. An analysis of the results will be published in the CDI Journal section of the ACDIS website later this fall.
