A couple of years ago, Debra A. Mikels, OTR/L, corporate manager of confidentiality at Partners HealthCare in Boston, visited her parents in Florida. 

Early one morning, she was contacted by the fraud detection unit at her credit card company. A representative wanted to know whether she was in Australia and had tried to purchase $5,000 in sporting goods equipment. Mikels said no and stated that she was on vacation in Florida.
